Message from our CEO
The General Engineers & Suppliers Company was the brainchild of my father, the late Cruz Motha, who invested his time, substance and all his considerable passion into establishing GESCO in the year 1978.
This was a watershed time for our country, when radical new Government policies were opening up fresh areas of opportunity and companies were pursuing diversification for all they were worth !
The General Engineers & Suppliers Company (GESCO) was in on the ground floor, so to speak, of the brand-new arena of Communications.
GESCO’s first steps into the field were taken with the introduction to Sri Lanka of secure communications equipment which still form the communication backbone of Sri Lanka’s police and defence structures.
Our success set the stage for several more significant hook ups. Northrop Grumman/Park Air Systems came on board with their superlative ground-to-air systems for use in air traffic control and defence applications and so did another valuable partner, Consilium Selesmar, whose matchless Selesmar Radar equips a significant number of naval craft plying in Sri Lankan waters.
GESCO went on to pioneer the introduction of CCTV security/surveillance products – from Analog hardware to state-of-the-art digital video solutions.
Today, GESCO’s range of up-to-the-minute surveillance, counter-surveillance, communications, personal and property protection equipment is second to none.
Looking over the past 30 years, it seems we have an undeniable ability to pick outstanding products, make exceptional allies … and establish long-standing relationships.
A major part of the credit for the success we have won must go to our dedicated team of Sales achievers who, together with our highly qualified staff of electronic engineers, have secured for GESCO a position of pre-eminence in the world of Sri Lankan business.
Our long experience enables us to offer total solutions, predicted on an innovative and holistic approach to problems, which in turn, offer our customers greater control of their facilities at an appreciably lower cost.
